Terranean now operating as RPS

Specialist Mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consultancy Terranean will now operate as RPS, following the company's acquisition in May 2011.

South Hedland Primary Schools Landscape Competition Unveiling

On Friday 4 November, RPS participated in the unveiling of BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s South Hedland Primary Schools Landscape Competition.

The events held at Baler Primary School, Cassia Primary School and South Hedland Primary School were an opportunity for the school children and their parents to get their hands dirty and get involved in the program.

Across the three schools more than 250 students and 100 parents helped finalise the landscaping works including planting shrubs, spreading mulch and painting bench seats.

RPS Surveyor appointed to Surveyors Board of Queensland

RPS’ Technical Director for Survey in SEQ, Gregg Purcell has been appointed to the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ).

The SBQ is the statutory board which regulates the profession and performs the functions set out in the Surveyors Act 2003 and is accountable to the Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy.

The company has previously been represented on the board by Peter Stopford and the recently retired Dennis Gregor and RPS is pleased to again be represented on the board of this significant industry body.



RPS delivers CSG water paper for National Water Commission

RPS was engaged by the federal government to prepare a discussion paper for the National Water Commission’s Waterline program addressing a range of issues relating to coal seam gas (CSG) water.

The aim of the paper was to provide a foundation for discussion and to seed debate in relation to policy and management issues associated to Coal Seam Gas (CSG) water across Australia, predominantly in Queensland and New South Wales.



RPS part of WA UDIA Award winning teams

RPS’ Land and Infrastructure environment division in Perth is a key consultant for a number of projects that were award winners at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA) 2011 Awards for Excellence. 

RPS has undertaken a diverse range of services for each of the winners and has been working with Australand on the triple-award winning Port Coogee development (www.portcoogee.com.au) for more than 15 years.

RPS contributes to World Environment Day award win

RPS’ Newcastle team has been acknowledged for its contribution over the past four years on BHP Billiton’s Hunter River Remediation Project (HRRP) which won the Environmental Best Practice Program Award at the prestigious United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA) World Environment Day Awards.

RPS has been involved in this project for more than four years across Ecology, Survey and most recently Archaeology.
