Cultural Heritage
Cultural heritage is a critical consideration for all energy, resource, urban growth and infrastructure projects throughout Australia.
RPS’ experienced team of archaeologists, paleontologists, geologists and paleoanthropologists assist clients to negotiate the permits and legislation associated with indigenous and non-indigenous cultural heritage management.
Experts in investigating and assessing the indigenous and non-indigenous archaeology of sites across Australia, we are experienced in developing comprehensive cultural heritage management plans to mitigate issues and preserve the archaeology. We are also experienced in large scale and complex sub-surface archaeological excavations.
We have strong working relationships and established communications channels with indigenous communities throughout Australia.
We are also one of the few organisations in Australia capable of archaeological predictive modelling across unsurveyed regions, using a combination of LiDAR data and GIS spatial analysis technology.
Also unique to RPS is terrestrial scanning for Aboriginal rock shelters, engravings and historic items such as buildings and monuments.
